‘Thrilled to partner,’ Platypus Brewing and Houston SaberCats form a winning combination
HOUSTON, TEXAS (February 27, 2024) The Houston SaberCats are proud to announce that Platypus Brewing is now the Official Craft Beer Partner of our returning playoff franchise, effective immediately.
Platypus Brewing is a Houston-based, independently owned restaurant, full bar and brewery, located in the historic First Ward and Arts District adjacent to downtown at 1902 Washington Ave. Suite E in Houston, TX 77007.
With a North Entry Bar anchoring SaberCats Stadium and the Title Sponsor for the SaberCats’ Opening Night game March 2 against the Utah Warriors, Platypus Brewing @platypus_brewing is a longtime supporter of grass roots community and local rugby.
“Rugby has always been important to us at Platypus Brewing, it’s part of who we are,” said Sean Hanrahan, the Owner and Managing Partner of Platypus Brewing. “We are thrilled to partner with the SaberCats and look forward to being a part of their continued success.”
The SaberCats are coming off a franchise-record 10-win season and are returning multiple outstanding players, including leading scorer Davy Coetzer, director Heyneke Meyer and coach Pote Human. They have qualified for the playoffs each of the past two seasons while competing in Major League Rugby. Platypus Brewing plans to host four Watch Parties this season.
