Kaitlyn and Preston first met last year and Preston has been a SaberCats season ticket holder since 2022
“I brought up the SaberCats and she was so interested because she had played rugby in school. So on my birthday, she joined us for a tailgate and match. We also sat and watched the ‘Cats take on the SeaWolves in that year’s final at a bar called Catbirds before we went to the Pride parade.” Last season Preston had planned on going to the championship in Chicago with a friend, paid in full but he backed out and Kaitlyn became the attendant to fill that seat. It turned out to be their second date. “We agreed to make the MLR championship a tradition and I thought it would be the perfect place to propose.”
This past season, he and his friends started organizing tailgates and watch parties with his club, Bay Area Rugby club.
SaberCats Rugby launched and enhanced the love that Preston and Kaitlyn share for each other and we want to congratulate them on their engagement which took place at the 2024 MLR Championship in San Diego!
